Calf

Oil on Canvas

27.5" x 35.5"

What first caught my attention about this calf is that it was crying like a baby. I pulled up on a rural Ecuadorian road to photograph it. It wasn't long before I realized that the calves were fenced in on one side of the road and their mothers on the other. To preserve the cows' milk production the calves were intentionally separated from their mother. This one didn't like it one bit.
