This view across the City Dock of Annapolis, captures the crisp spring morning light as it glances across the facades and awnings of the restaurants and shops along the waterfront, including the historic Middleton's Tavern. The majestic dome of the US Navel Academy Chapel peers from behind, while ducks swim in the reflections of the scene. The broken brushwork and strong coloration of the water were inspired by Monet's Regatta at Argenteuil (see painting).
