This was painted at the Armacost family's farm, Hickory Hill. Wayne was nice enough to let all his cows out of the barn on a very hot 4th of July day. In a few minutes the cows headed to a shady tree well out of view, so I decided to paint the corn filed and barn instead. Fortuitously, a few hours later, as I was putting down the finishing touches, the cows came back to eat some grass near the barn. I quickly added them in, which nicely completed the painting. |
