This painting of the Santa Maria della Salute was originally commissioned by Condé Nast Traveler Magazine for a column called Getaways. I was in good company with this painting, since it had also been painted by Monet, Sargent and Turner. The article featured a list of top hotels each month and a painting of one of those featured. In this case, the Hotel Danieli that had a restaurant with outdoor seating facing the historic church.
